The Five Great Wisdom Kings (Godai Myōō) are cast in bronze on the body of the bell: Fudō Myōō (Skt. Acala), Ususama Myōō (Skt. Ucchuṣma), Gōzanze Myōō (Skt. Trailokyavijaya), Gundari Myōō (Skt. Kuṇḍalī), and Daiitoku Myōō (Skt. Yamāntaka). The forms of each figure are identical to the iconography that the priest Enchin (Chishōdaishi Enchin; 814–891) brought back to Japan from the Tang dynasty (618–907). Its large scale and various other features suggest that this bell was produced in the Goryeo Kingdom (935–1392).
