The community of Buddhist faithful based at Kitadera Temple in Kamo District, Harima Province (present-day Ono and Kasai area, Hyōgo prefecture) copied out the Commentary on the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra (Skt. Mahāprajñāpāramitôpadeśaśāstra; Ch. Da zhidu lun; J. Dai chido ron). Each person was responsible for one of the one hundred total scrolls that were created through this undertaking. The inscription at the end of this scroll tells us that it was copied by a woman named Harima no Atai Meime.
