This pair is composed of a male god with stubble at the chin and a female god with long flowing hair. The depiction of the body that limits its expression of the folds in the robes is representative of Heian-period images of the local deities known as kami. Both of these statues
gaze off at an angle, and their facial expressions show a degree of dynamism.

The female deity with plump cheeks was decorated with Japanese style robe, the right hand was shown in a pose of fondling draped hair. The male deity appears to be an elderly official holding a scepter (presently lost). Many other divine statues were expressed turning their faces front, whereas these statues represent unique examples with lively postures.
