Eleven-Headed Kannon is seated on a lotus pedestal, the figure’s form rendered using the technique of hammering a metal sheet. The fine and delicate chest ornaments and decorations adorning the heavenly canopy are invaluable features of this object, as they date back to the time of its production. This kakebotoke is dated to the end of the Kamakura period (1185–1333) in part on the basis of the style of its heavenly canopy and vases.
