Bronze halberds were used during Yayoi-period ceremonies. The narrow blade suggests it is the type that might have actually been used in battle, but the rather dull point and the hole for a cord at the end of its handle that would make it a more practical weapon appears to be decorative. This was discovered deposited in the ground at the bottom of the Kinsei River, which flows into the Seto Inland Sea.
