Katsuma is one of the Esoteric Buddhist implements, in the shape of two crossed three-pronged pestles. It is laid on a bronze tray which is placed on each corner of the ritual platform during a ceremony. It is a rare example which shows the eight petals of a chrysanthemum decorating the central medallion, and which is well-balanced and shows a gentle appearance.
