This obidome (waist cord clasp) with design carvedinto the surface of red-lacquered ivory was set ina silver backing. The vegetative design is in thestyle of Shōsō-in motifs. Although the craftsman is unverified, Shōko is a powerful candidate, sincehe was involved in the reconstruction of bachiru techniques and later awarded status as an IntangibleCultural Property.
