This is test piece for the bachiru folding ruler to be stored in the Sewing Box with Inlay Design of Early Spring Voices (Hatsune) Incorporating AshideScript (Special Exhibit Item). The design essentially corresponds to that on the actual work: from the narrow end, trailing clouds (blue), tachibana citrusmotif (red), pine branches (blue), and plovers with waves or clouds (red).
