This deity is located in the northwest corner of therishu-e section of the Kongōkai (Diamond World) mandala. It appears to be a work from Kontai Butsugajō (Notebook of Buddhist paintings from the Diamond and Womb Worlds), a collection of polychromatic iconographical drawings. A Muromachi period (1333-1573) document attached to this notebook says that the artist was the late Heian period (794-1185) Buddhist painter Takuma Tameto’o.
