This form of Kannon is said to have the power to grant the wishes of sentient beings seeking deliverance from suffering through the virtuous efficacy of its dharma wheel (Jpn. hōrin) and wish-fulfilling jewel (nyoi hōju). This image of the six-armed Nyoirin Kannon depicts the bodhisattva seated on the stony cliff of Mt. Potalaka (Jpn. Fudarakusen), where the divinity is thought to reside. The body and robe are rendered in gold and an intricate cut-gold-leaf (kirikane) design adorns the robe.
