Conforming to the archetype, this Koma-inu sits, facing straight ahead. The facial expression is vigorous and its fangs are barred as if growling. The deft rendering of the musculature visible beneath the skin and the physique are realistic, suggesting that this statue was produced at the beginning of the Kamakura period.
