This manuscript copy of the Hōonkyō, which explains how faith in Buddhism amounts to filial piety, was copied in ink in the calligraphic style of the Nara period. The colophon indicates that the wife of Hiki no Yamamori, the governor of Nagato, sponsored this transcription in 752 (Tenpyō-Shōhō 4) and that the Buddhist monk Egyō did the copying.
