Sahari or kyōdō is the name for an alloy of bronze to which molten tin and iron have been added. Its color is similar to gold and when struck, produces a beautiful tone. It was a preferred material for Buddhist ritual implements and eating utensils. This small ewer is characterized by the fact that it is accompanied by a saucer and has a segmented neck.
