The original painting is an Amida triad, owned by Chion-in temple in Kyoto. The original painting was created during the Goryeo period (first half of the14th century) in Korea. Yokoyama Taikan’s copy of the original was purchased by the Imperial Museum (today’s Tokyo National Museum) in Marchof 1886. This study is apparently a copy of thatversion.
