This is a draft of a document submitted to higher authorities by the Shokyōsho (Office of Sutra Copying) concerning the alms (actually the salary) to be paid to scribes (shakyōsei). Following the record of the total number of sheets of paper found at the start of the scroll, the breakdown for each scribe is recorded. This document has been cut in two, and the latter portion is preserved at the Shōsō-in.
