Accompanied by an attendant, Fugen Bosatsu rides on a white elephant with six tusks. A Buddhist scripture rests atop the lotus blossom held in both its hands. The iconography, clothing, and the expression of the lapping-wave pattern of the drapery match that of Song-dynasty Śākyamuni triads from China so this painting is thought to be modeled on a Song painting. It was preserved at Kenchū-ji Temple in Fukuoka.
