This hanging votive plaque has an embossed image of Shō Kannon (Sk. Arya Avalokiteśvara). A canopy above the icon and flanking flower vases have been attached to the plaque. The engraved inscription on the plaque below the icon indicates that it was donated to Jōsan-ji temple in the province of Tango (present-day Kyōtango city in Kyoto).
