This bronze pendant in the shape of a fan has motifs of a kind of lotus flower motif attributed to the Buddhist arts of Tang-dynasty China known as kasukarakusa expressed in delicate openwork. Cut out from a bronze plate, its intricate designs of scrolling lotus flowers that even describe the veins of the leaves are exquisite. The auspicious knot, seed syllables placed in disks mounted on lotus pedestals, and the clasp are all made one by one and decorated on both sides.
