The Buddhist monk Eison (1201–1290) of Saidaiji Temple transmitted the Dharma (denpō) to his disciples Sōji and Eishin in a consecration ritual (kanjō) in the third month of 1258 (Shōka 2). This is a transcription of the latter half of a document compiled by another monk two years later in 1260. It contains the ritual procedures for the 1258 service.
