This hanging plaque depicts the forms of five revered Buddhist divinities. The central figure is the historical Buddha, Shakamuni (Sk. Śākyamuni), who is surrounded by divinities who are arranged clockwise from the lower right. They appear to represent Jūichmen Kannon (Sk. Ekādaśamukha), Amida (Sk. Amitābha), Jizō (Sk. Kṣitigarbha), and Monju (Sk. Mañjuśrī). It is thought that these depict the original Buddhist forms of the deities of Kasuga shrine, although Amida replaces Yakushi (Sk. Bhaiṣajyaguru) here.
