A katsuma is Buddhist ritual implement comprisedof two three-pronged vajras attached in the center at right angles. Their design originates from Indianthrowing weapons. They are normally found in sets of four; one is placed at each corner of a ritual altar to form the ritual boundary. The vajras comprising this katsuma intersect at a circular center point, the proportion of which creates a sense of balance withthe vajras, which themselves are quite substantial.
