There are incised inscriptions of “Kamidaigoji” “Gyo-jyuin” on the mouth rim. They suggest that the bell was used in Gyojyuin temple which located on the mountain top of the Daigo-ji temple in Kyoto. The Gyojyuin temple is abandoned at present.
