The Buddha riding upon a cloud appears at a slight angle. The deity holds one hand up and one down, and the thumb and middle fingers of both hands connect in an unusual mudra. However, comparisons with related paintings suggest that the deity may be Shaka Nyorai. Although the pigment has eroded in some areas, this painting exudes an uncommon refinement.
