The priest Myōe (1173–1232) revived Kōsanji as a Kegon sect temple. He kept records of his dreams throughout his life as part of his religious practice. This is a segment from his diaries, now in various formats, that records a dream that he had on the seventh day of the fifth month of Kenkyū 9 (1198) in which a large golden horse took a liking to him.
