This ritual implement was for offering incense before a Buddhist deity. It is called the Kinzanji incense burner, and it was primarily used on the Korean peninsula. Its unique features are the wide flange-like mouth and the splayed hem-like stand. This item has gold and silver inlay designs of Sanskrit and arabesque (Jp. karakusa) across the entire bronze body.
