This sculpture is said to have come from Nachi in Wakayama prefecture. It has been fashioned with a small head and greatly elongated body. The physique is gently muscled, indicating that it is in the style of the late-Heian period. Images of Fudō holding his left hand chest high while gripping a lasso are relatively rare.
