This large ewer has a pointed drinking spout (Jpn. sendai) atop the neck. It does not have a pouring spout (chūkō), but instead has an opening at the shoulder in a trefoil shape, known as a suhama, which is said to resemble a shoreline seen from above. Judging from characteristics such as the short pedestal and the rounded upper portion of lid-like protrusion from which the drinking spout projects, this item appears to have been produced during the Goryeo dynasty.
