Special Precautions the Nara National Museum is Taking to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus

The Nara National Museum is taking every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of museum visitors and staff. We appreciate your cooperation with the below measures and precautions.

For Visitors to the Nara National Museum

Precautions
If you or someone in your household or party answers “yes” to any of the below questions, unfortunately, you will not be permitted to enter the museum at this time.

  • Do you have a fever one degree or more above normal?
  • Are you experiencing cold symptoms, drowsiness, difficulty breathing, or general discomfort that could possibly be a sign of illness?
  • Have you come into close contact recently with anyone who has tested positive for the novel coronavirus?

Temperature Check Prior to Entering the Museum
All visitors to the museum will be asked to have their temperature checked using a no-contact thermometer before entering. Anyone with a temperature one degree or more above normal will be denied admission for the day.

 Masks
All visitors to the museum must wear a mask and in the correct manner.

Handwashing and Alcohol Disinfectant
We encourage all museum visitors to regularly wash their hands and use alcohol disinfectant.

Limiting Conversations
When in the galleries, we ask that visitors limit their conversations.

Social Distancing
We ask that all guests maintain an appropriate distance between themselves and others.

Limiting Crowds
The number of visitors admitted at any given time will be limited to avoid crowding.

① The museum will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and ventilated at regular intervals.

② Staff will undergo regular temperature checks, wear masks, thoroughly wash their hands, and use hand sanitizer.

③ Rest areas have been reduced.

④ Seating at the restaurant has been reduced.
