For School Officials

Our Museum offers a special tour for young children and students by our volunteer guides, who will comprehensibly explain how to appreciate Buddha statues as well as Buddhist art in front of the actual works.
Please make use of our Museum as a destination for field trips and school excursions. We also welcome teachers to conduct workshops here.

For groups of 10 persons and above, please make reservation two weeks in advance by filling out the designated Reservation Form (downloadable PDF file), and sending it to us via fax.
Please note that we may not be able to accept your proposed date depending on the timing. In this case, the educational office will make the necessary adjustments with you.

Suggestible plan for Guided tour (About 60 minutes. For groups between 30 to 60 persons)
Explanation using slides on the “Masterpieces of Buddhist Art” (held in the New Wing hall. About 30 minutes)

The group will then be divided into smaller groups and led to the Nara Buddhist Sculpture Hall. (Each group will be attended by a volunteer guide.)

The volunteer guide will explain on the different types of Buddha statues in the exhibition as well as the highlights. (At the Nara Buddhist Sculpture Hall. About 30 minutes)

There is no parking space for visitors. Please use the parking lots nearby.
